Spicy Pumpkin Bread

  • 2-3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 16 oz. can pumpkin
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. soda

Cream sugar, oil and eggs together. Add pumpkin. Stir until mixed. Let stand for 5 minutes. Sift dry ingredients together and add to pumpkin mixture. Stir in pecans. Fill 3 – 1 pound coffee cans (greased and floured) 1/2 full. Bake in 325 degree oven 1 hour and 15 min. or until done. Remove from oven. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from cans.
